United We Stand
The two greatest religions with arguably the largest global following, Christianity and Islam, have been set against one another for some time. It is time that the followers came together and united to uphold the sovereignty of the Almighty God, his laws and commandments in a peaceful, unifying and loving way.
Amazon recently aired a TV advertisement featuring an Imam and a Vicar exchanging gifts.
The free newspaper, Metro, features a copy of the video.
What is great about this advert is that it attempts to draw together two of the major faiths that dominate the world, Christianity and Islam. Both faiths have powerful teachers who espouse goodwill and charity as well as the omniscience of Almighty God.
Another great example of interfaith bridge building appeared in the Huffington Post
This an encouraging and unifying message that prompts Christians to accept that Muhammad was the 'Spirit of Truth' and 'Advocate' foretold in the Bible and described by Jesus. It urges everyone to stop taking a negative stance against Muhammad and Islam despite the rise of militant Islam (or Islamism).
It is all too easy to look at any subject or topic (religious or otherwise) with a lens that is purposely critical, negative and destructive.
Let's find ways to open our hearts and minds to genuinely understand one another and find ways to come together for the sake of the world - in a time where politics, economics and war appear to be tearing communities apart and orphaning many young, defenceless and innocent children who are being ejected from their homeland without much support offered by Europe or indeed other surrounding countries.
After all ... our forefathers and grand parents fought for our peace and salvation.. shouldn't we be doing the same for our children and the future generations?
